The Insoles

Why Tamir Kfir insoles?

Most of the general population, and athletes in particular, believe that the cushioning in their everyday shoes and in their sports shoes is enough to absorb shocks, support their feet and prevent injuries. A shoe manufactured in a factory, however, is designed for millions of people all over the world, even though each person’s height, weight, athletic involvement, and foot structure are different. Naturally, a shoe made in a factory cannot fit everyone perfectly. This is why insoles are so important.

Insoles made the Tamir Kfir way are professionally designed and are quite different than the regular insoles available in stores. After close observation and research, Tamir Kfir concluded that each and every area and component of the foot requires special attention, based on the needs of each athlete or the sport in which he participates.

Studies have shown that there is significant stress on the joints and other parts of the body - the knees, back (spine), foot, muscles, etc. both in everyday activity and especially in athletic activity. The stress factor varies depending on a person’s weight and activity, and in some cases can be as much as 6 times a person’s weight! (For example, a person weighing 70 kilos can be exerting up to 420 kilos of stress on his joints during athletic activity). This stress varies depending on the type of sport. A sprinter, for example, exerts pressure on his joints differently than a basketball player. The stress on a person who spends long periods standing is different than the stress on a soccer player. In addition, athletes and non-athletes need insoles not only to absorb shocks but also to enhance movement (to prevent a loss of momentum), create the proper balance throughout the body, prevent damage to the joints, and more.

With all this in mind, Tamir Kfir developed a special insole made of 8 different layers of materials that promote forward movement and absorb shocks. The types of materials and their composition vary from one insole to another and are individually fitted to each client after comprehensive measurements and tests. These include an examination of the foot and the client’s anatomic structure, his medical history, height, age and weight; walking on a special track and running on a treadmill, if necessary, plus a questionnaire about the purpose of the insole (everyday walking, prolonged standing, a specific sport, etc.). Any person who wears an insole that is unsuitable for the structure of his body or his foot, or a type of activity, increases the chances of injury, pain, improper balance and lower achievements. It is unthinkable that a non-athletic person and a man running a triathlon wear the exact same insole, so Tamir Kfir puts the main emphasis in designing insoles (and the materials in them), that are perfectly suited to the client and his activities. This means that a basketball player gets insoles designed especially for basketball, a sprinter gets special sprinting insoles, a diabetic patient gets insoles designed especially for diabetics (to promote increased blood flow to the feet) etc.

The combination of a specially designed insole and the comprehensive tests each client undergoes ensure that the final product is long-lasting, suits its purpose and has the proven ability to solve physical problems, prevent injuries and improve athletic abilities.  Contact us.
